What happens to your Donation?

Our Internal Costs are Low

The UK registered charity - Joshua Orphan Care Trust - is run entirely by volunteers in the UK. For this reason all of the funds you donate to Joshua are passed directly on to where they are needed in Malawi.

You can stipulate what you would like your funds to support, or you can choose to give an open donation, where we will put your funds to the best possible use. We are extremely grateful for all donations of any size.

We understand the huge responsibility that is associated with accepting money from you and will ensure that all monies received are used in an appropriate and responsible manner.

Sponsor a Future

Whilst one off donations are fantastic, monthly donations ensures greater longer term sustainability as we can plan our projects in advance and create a future for the villages and communities we support. Even if you can only spare just a few pounds a month, this can still make a huge difference.

  • £5 buys a mosquito net for the clinic
  • £15 per month - Sponsors a orphaned/vulnerable child to attend Secondary School and achieve a better hope for their future
  • £20 per month - Provide for the basic needs of 6 vulnerable children for a year (food, shelter, school uniforms)
  • £25 buys a cooking pot for the feeding centre that will feed 80 children
  • £25 per month - Salary for highly qualified teacher
  • £35 per month - Sponsorship of University student
  • £60 per month - Sponsors a teacher training programme to improve the quality of teaching in the school

Other Donations

We often get asked if we need clothes, toys and books to be sent to Malawi. Although we are immensely grateful for any support of this kind, we prefer to ask supporters to send funds to our charity account, so we can purchase supplies locally. This avoids high import taxes and delivery charges, as well as supporting the local economy in Blantyre.
